My 1 year anniversary on JWD was Thursday...
by Billzfan23 inwow.. a whole year already...that was like a whole new beginning for me when i checked out this site.. i was never a lurker, just signed up and posted from day 1. stumbling onto this site was like opening up pandora's box... what a ride folks...

Fear of athiests
by changeling ini seemed to have missed some of the excitement from last night.
but i wanted to post my observations.. it seems to me that some have an irrational fear of athiests.
it's as if they fear we are evil people that are out to destroy their faith.

did it ever occur to any of you that blakeseeley and carlhernz could be separate people posting from the same computer?
if they are then it follows that their vocabularies and writing styles may be similar; if one is a journalist (even part-time) perhaps the other is as well.. it could be that one is visiting the other; carlhernz said that blakeseeley was in florida at present but would be returning to texas soon.. why not step back, take a few deep breaths...and unlock that thread?.

by restrangled inmy mom at 73 is full time pioneering and complaining that many days a week the young couples never show up.
she describes them as having new cars, big houses, and having to both work to maintain their lifestyles.. she mentioned the above statement from the latest co to the congregation.. oh really......!.
i said to her, well none of these people were allowed to get college educations and they are probably earning 10.00 an hour max which goes nowhere.

Oh hey, I remember now, when I was a pioneer and didn't work, I'd take my husband to work in the morning, then go out in service (a.k.a. drive around all day wasting time and resources) in our '69 El Camino. Elders cornered us at least at 2 meetings, to complain that our car was too loud.
We were doing our best, thought we were doing the RIGHT thing. We kept going for years becoming more hurt and disillusioned.

You're right, it's just sickening. My mom was saying years ago, 'How come both a husband and wife have to work? It's because they want it all and they don't want to pioneer!" Now that she's even more out of touch. . . she said that to me the last time we talked, 2 years ago, said it's a shame that I have to work when I have a husband! F her. F them all. They're just plain mean.

The downside of no longer being a JW
by Quandry inwe have discovered a downside to no longer being a jw.
as we were washing clothes today, my husband remarked that since we no longer attend meetings, we are not constantly sending suits and dresses to the dry cleaners and alas, we no longer get hangers and are going to have to (gasp) buy some!
what down sides can you think of?.

SATAN WORSHIP?
by shell69 ini've been several months out now (da'd in feb 07).
i took to wearing a pentagram , since i really do believe in these five main elements to life.. however, as you will know the pentagram is also reffered to as 'star of satan and various other things.. my point is: as far as the witlesses are concerned, i worship the devil since i dont worship jehoobah.. but!.
i would rather be a worshiper of satan, who everyone knows can be a bit of scumbag at times, but at least i know where i stand with him, than worship a god who proffesses to be the only true god, yet devastates his followers when they realise the true extent of the lies of his apparent earthly organization.. so i wear my pentagram with pride!.
